• Tested Standards: The helmet exceeds the EN1078 safety standard for bicycle helmets and also meets the strict ASTM 1952 Downhill Standard – ideal for demanding gravity riding.
• Break-Away Visor Screws (optional): For added safety, plastic screws can be used that break away upon a hard impact, reducing dangerous rotational forces on the neck.

❓ FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about the O’Neal Sonus Youth

Is this helmet suitable for the bike park? 👉 Yes, absolutely! The O’Neal Sonus Youth meets the strict ASTM 1952 Downhill Standard. This makes the full-face helmet fully approved and highly recommended for use in bike parks and on demanding downhill tracks.

How easy is the buckle for children to use? 👉 Very easy. Thanks to the patented Fidlock® magnetic buckle, even younger riders can easily open and close the helmet with just one hand (and even with gloves on). No more annoying threading or pinching the skin!

Can I wash the inner lining? 👉 Yes, the ultra-plush inner padding is completely removable and can be washed gently. This keeps the helmet hygienically clean even after sweaty summer days on the trail.

Will the goggles slip during the ride? 👉 No, the back of the helmet shell features a specifically pre-shaped design. This goggle strap guide ensures that the strap stays exactly in place, no matter how rough the trail gets.

What does “Airflaps™ compatible” mean? 👉 Airflaps are small levers that can be attached to the helmet shell to slightly flip the goggles away from the face while riding or in the lift. This prevents the goggles from fogging up and provides more fresh air. The helmet is shaped so that this system can be easily retrofitted.
